LINKING OF THE BRAS DE LA PLAINE AND THE BRAS DE CILAOS RIVERS

CUSTOMER: SAPHIR (REUNION ISLAND HYDRO-AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION)
LOCATION: BRAS DE LA PLAINE AND BRAS DE CILAOS RIVERS, REUNION ISLAND
Missions:
Construction of pumping stations on the LARREY and PARADIS pipelines, phase A, allowing for two-way supply (according to demand) between the Paradis reservoir and the Gol reservoir.
The F&M solution:

The two-way functioning of distribution systems requires the kind of expert knowledge of automated control which Feljas & Masson possesses. Having worked in the Reunion for a number of years, the company understands the way in which the general water network operates and is fully aware of the challenges the project poses. Recently the SAPHIR also entrusted Feljas & Masson with phase B of the project aimed at increasing the flow rate. The assignment included the specific task of setting up a reversible pumping system to allow the production of electricity by means of turbines.

Key data:
Reunion Island has a complex climate due to its geographical location and terrain: the East receives abundant rainfall whereas the West is much drier. To distribute the island's water resources equally, the SAPHIR asked Feljas & Masson to carry out the work linking the Bras de Cilaos and the Bras de la Plaine rivers.
